Polar Adventures · Killengreens gate 7-11, Tromsø
Polar Adventures takes a small boat out to Ramfjorden, stops at the fishing spots, and the crew turns what you pull up into fish soup on board. Pick it for the fishing and the food, and book the all-inclusive option: the classic one has no rods.

Polar Adventures is a family-run company that has worked the fjords around Tromsø for more than ten years. Its office sits on the front pier at Killengreens gate 7-11, next to the Radisson Blu and the Scandic Ishavshotel, and the listing includes hotel pickup and drop-off. The trip runs four to five hours, with a photo stop at the island of Ryøya, about an hour in Ramfjorden and one more stop before the run back.
The listing sells two quite different trips under one name. The all-inclusive fjord and fishing option uses a smaller boat (the operator says groups are 40 to 80 percent smaller than on the big boats), stops at several spots for cod, haddock, coalfish and wolffish, and includes fish soup, bread, hot drinks, snacks, cookies and thermal suits. The classic fjord cruise uses a slightly larger boat, has no fishing, and sells the soup, coffee and snacks on board. The listing marks the all-inclusive as the dearer option, and the $177 from-price may not be the one you want. Check which option you click.
The crew is generous with the catch. Guests describe the crew throwing fish to draw in sea eagles, and the listing says fillets can be prepared to take home on a good day. The operator names small pilot whales, dolphins, otters, reindeer and moose as possible sightings, which is ambitious: eagles are the realistic bet, and nothing is guaranteed. No alcohol is allowed on board.
